Dramatic rescue to fire victims
HAMILTON Police have been investigating the circumstances of a house fire on Coleraine Road, Hamilton, on Sunday night, where thankfully all residents were evacuated safely.
THE blackened shell of a home on Coleraine Road on Monday morning bears witness to the major fire which could’ve been a greater tragedy were it not for the quick-thinking actions of the staff at Curly’s Pizza across the road. Five residents inside were saved before flames engulfed the house, and the business is looking at a fundraiser to support them. The fire is believed to have started about 10pm on Sunday night, where emergency services and volunteers worked hard into the early hours of the morning to ensure the safety of all residents.
