Australian Superfine Woolgrowers Association turns 50

ARARAT will be the place for the celebration of 50 years since foundation of the Australian Superfine Woolgrowers Association (ASWGA) on June 26 and 27.

The annual dinner and farm tour will also into presentations to the winners of the ASWGA Fleece Competition.
The venue will be at the birthplace of the association at the Ararat Town Hall.
The ASWGA is an international association of wool growers and processors, with the aim of promoting and developing superfine wool.
The ASWGA serves its members by facilitating a link of all global stakeholders in the supply chain.
The ASWGA liaises with other industry bodies to educate, represent and advise on research on superfine raw wool production trends and consumer demands.
Special guests will be Colette Garnsey Australian Wool Innovations and past ASWGA president, and Kevin Dunn who will speak on the history of the association.
The tours will visit five highly regarded member operations over the two days. Farms visits to include Kooringa, Currawong, Coliban Park, Beverley and Avington Merinos.
The weekend will provide a great wool grower networking opportunity and the chance to hear all the new developments.
