The two Association games had widely differing results.

Saturday’s stormy weather saw only one game played all day.
The stalwart Association players of Haydon and Partington made 14 hoops to Stevenson and Smith’s nine.

JACK WALDRON
DESPITE oppressive heat, the Classic Pairs was the best ever, being played out on Thursday to a final of eight teams.
After quarter and semi-finals, two teams were left to fight out the final – the combination of Darren Gordon and Stephen Field, who are previous winners from Dunkeld, and five-time finalists from Warrnambool City, David Wells and Arthur Finch.
With the head changing almost every bowl, Wells and Finch emerged the winners in a great final.
A special thank you to our many sponsors and the myriad of club workers who made the tournament possible.
Among the field was 84-year-old bowling treasure and life member, Syd Barnes, pairing with Troy Greed.
Over the two days, he played five games of 14 ends and each end he walked the length of the green three times – a total of 210 times.
Each end he bowled four bowls – 280 altogether.
In an amazing performance, the pair reached the final eight –another five ends – the title of iron man seems hardly appropriate.
Our brilliant division three gold team has won three premierships in a row, but in a glaring error by this scribe, this year’s win was attributed to sister team Green. He has been suitably disciplined.
This week the ladies section open triples tournament is being played; results next week.
Next Wednesday is President Adrian’s invitation tournament. Entries will be taken until next Monday.
A smaller entry than usual played social bowls on Saturday in perfect autumn weather, as Gavin Wallis and Rob Baker were in red-hot form with Tom Storer and the amazing Peter Graham close behind.
Both teams had two wins and a draw.
