MARISSA Jamieson has capped-off a stellar athletics season with a haul of three silver and one bronze medal, at the South Australian State Athletics carnival. Following on from a full season of records and personal bests in 2020/2021, Jamieson qualified for five events at this year’s state carnival, where she collected silver and new PBs in both the 100-metre hurdles and 200 metres, silver in the 100-metres, bronze and a new PB in the triple jump and fifth in the long jump.

ANDY Alderton and Neil Shannon are celebrating their new title as Casterton Bowling Club’s Championship Men’s Pairs team. Just four teams took up the pairs challenge this year, with Alderton and Shannon knocking Alan Elijah and Colin Emms out in the first round, before facing Mick Kearns and Brett Vas As in the weekend’s final, where they recorded a resounding win.TWILIGHT bowls has come to and end for the 2021/22 season, with Glenis O’Connell skippering her team to the win. O’Connell (holding the shield) was joined by Heather Gill and Margie McConachy, taking on Neil Shannon and his team of Leanne Richardson and Sandy Pilmore for the season title.BRETT Van As and Mick Kearns have taken the Casterton Bowling Club’s Men’s 100-Up competition to the wire, with an epic battle of outstanding bowling and close scores until the closing stages. In the end, it was Van As staying the distance, taking out the 2022 title.
