ALL of Victoria will head into a seven-day lockdown as of 11.59pm tonight (Thursday). Acting premier, James Merlino said in a press conference that as the situation had worsened, health officials advised a seven-day statewide lockdown would be the best way to halt the spread of the virus. Masks must be worn everywhere except in your home.
Victorians will now have five reasons to leave home:
- To shop for essential items
- To exercise (2hr limit with one other person)
- To work and study if it cannot be done from home
- To provide or receive care
- To get vaccinated
The lockdown will be in place until 11.59pm on Thursday, June 3.There are currently 34 active cases of COVID-19 in Victoria.
