FOR the first time in months, regional Victorians can pack the caravan, jump in the car and head off for a getaway as the regions entered step three of the roadmap out of lockdown this week.
Regional accommodation and tourism providers were excited to hear the news, saying the announcement took weight off many shoulders.
Within the first 24 hours after the announcement, Moyne Shire-managed caravan parks received over 160 booking enquires.
Moyne Shire economic development and planning director, Brett Davis said it was evident regional Victorians were eager to get away.
He said occupancy for the September school holidays was shaping up to be comparable or higher for the same time last year.
