A MONTH-LONG journey to honour her brother’s life came to its conclusion on Saturday as local, Bec Doheny, walked her 254th kilometre for October.
Bec smashed her target of 200kms for the month, subsequently opening a dialogue surrounding suicide and mental health with those who followed her journey.
Not one to do things by halves, Bec planned to end the month with a bang, embarking on a mammoth 12-hour stint in which she would walk continuously around Lake Hamilton.
This year marked the 21st anniversary of the suicide of Bec’s brother, Ben Hoy, a loss that touched many.
