Man attempts to hide drugs from police

A HAMILTON man in his 40s fronted the Warrnambool Magistrates Court yesterday, charged with possession of traffickable quantity of drugs.

Hamilton Police acting sergeant, Jim Beaumont told The Spectator following the intercept of the man’s vehicle in the early hours of Friday, he was taken back to the police station for a full body search.

“A male in 40s was intercepted by police in early hours of (Friday) morning returning to the area,” he said.

“He was detained to the police station for full search of his body.

“During the search the male has removed approximately 12.5 grams of what is believed to be heroin from his body and has put it in his mouth in an attempt to swollen it … there was a struggle and the drugs were retrieved by police.”
