THE Grampians Peak Trail and Mackenzie Falls were some of the big winners in yesterday’s Victorian Tourism Recovery Package announcement with $13 million to be spent upgrading the local attractions.
Premier, Daniel Andrews unveiled the $465 million package yesterday to help the tourism sector bounce back after a year of bushfires and a global pandemic.
The Victorian Budget 2020-21 will have a strong focus on encouraging Victorians to visit and stay in the state, supporting local jobs and boosting the state’s economy.
“Whether it’s a day-trip with the family or a tour along our stunning coast, we’re helping more people get out and enjoy the best Victoria has to offer,” Ms Andrews said on Tuesday.
“This funding will help them tourism businesses bounce back from the challenges of this year – welcoming more visitors and employing more Victorians.”
