ONE hundred motorbikes rumbled from Heywood to Portland on Saturday for the annual toy run, with many people pillioning to bring the estimated number of participants to 130. The ride was led by organiser David Upton (right) towing his trailer “sleigh”; he also gave Peter Stamp from Portland’s Salvation Army a lift. Lieutenant Stamp and other Salvation Army representatives were delighted at the support people provided, donating toys as well as about $2000 that the Salvation Army can now spend to assist people at Christmas.
