All Abilities Choir send strong message following lockdown

THE Find Your Voice All Abilities Choir has continued to amaze, emerging from lockdown with a virtual chorus cover of the Beatles’ ‘All You Need Is Love’, complete with a music video and verses sung in local indigenous language.

The south-west Victorian group appeared on Australia’s Got Talent in 2019, wowing the country with its passion and skill.

This collaboration with Warrnambool-based ZOO Choir and other south-west musicians delivers with the same heart, and should be seen on its Facebook page at fb.watch/2Hx589CqMH/.

The choir is open to anyone and includes members from Hamilton, Portland, Warrnambool and all areas in between, but has a focus on engaging people with disabilities through music.

Creative director, Tom Richardson told The Spectator the project came together thanks to money from the Victorian Government.

“Earlier last the year when things were pretty unpredictable, I was lucky enough to get some support from Regional Arts Victoria with their Sustaining Creative Workers funding scheme,” he said.

“A lot of that funding was to ensure that we stay connected with the Find Your Voice choir and the ZOO choir and a lot of the community music work that we were doing in Warrnambool.”
