Man dies in Orford crash

A MAN has died after crashing his car in Orford yesterday morning.

Investigators believe a utility was travelling north along Port Fairy-Hamilton Road, between Rowbottoms Road and Woolsthorpe-Heywood Road, when it crashed into a tree about 8.10am.

The male sole occupant, who was yet to be formally identified at time of print, sadly died at the scene.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and ask anyone who witnessed it or with dashcam footage to come forward.

It was the second road fatality recorded in 2021.
