VTAC releases first round tertiary offers

THE Hamilton and Alexandra College (THAC) 2020 dux, Tess Dempsey, was among 48,676 people who received a first-round tertiary course offer on Thursday.

After completing her studies last year and receiving an ATAR of 96.45, Tess will now take the next step in her journey after receiving her top preference.

“I was ecstatic to receive my offer, a Bachelor of Biomedicine at Melbourne University,” she said.

“It was my top preference and I’m so relieved that all the hard work has paid off.”

Tess will go straight to university and commence her studies in March.

Of the offers the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) made this week, 45,081 were for higher education courses and 3558 for vocational education and training.

VTAC director, Catherine Wills said the offers provided students with answers regarding their future studies and allowed them to plan for 2021 and beyond.

“VTAC is proud to support our member institutions to provide offers to students headed to Victorian universities, TAFE institutes, and independent colleges,” she said.
