Excitement builds for annual Penshurst Exhibition

THE sixth annual Penshurst Art and Photography Exhibition is fast approaching with local artists encouraged to enter their work and in the running for great prizes.

A good turnout is expected at the Penshurst Memorial Hall on March 19-21, with plenty of people across the region registering their interest.

Event organisers, Thomas and Ama Cooke were “excited” about the event which had been “getting bigger every year”.

“We add something new every year,” Ms Cooke told The Spectator.

“This year we added a Youth Art Section for kids between the ages of 13 and 17.”

Children from St Josephs and Penshurst Primary Schools will create artwork at school that will be entered into this new section.

“This is the sixth year we have held it (the show); we had a smaller turnout last year due to COVID, but we were grateful to have a show at all,” Ms Cooke said.
