Cozens reaches for new heights

KERR & Co Livestock’s Harrison Cozens will take to the stands in Shepparton today, competing in the Australian Livestock and Property Agents Association (ALPA) Victorian Young Auctioneers Competition.

The 20-year-old from Hawkesdale said he was “feeling good” ahead of the event, suggesting it was a great opportunity so early into his career.

“I’m feeling good about it and looking forward to it,” he said.

“It’s a great opportunity to meet other young agents and network and I’m really excited to get into it.

Starting in the industry in October 2019, Mr Cozens only started to auctioneer consistently in 2020 with support from the rest of his team.

“Zac (Van Wegen) and Craig (Pertzel) have been great in helping me through, giving me advice and things to work on,” he said.

“I’ve learnt a lot from all the boys, they’ve been really good in guiding me and passing on their knowledge.”

Mr Cozens’ voice became a regular at January’s Hamilton’s weaner sales, proving to be a baptism of fire for the up-and-coming auctioneer.
