STAFF and students from Monivae College have raised $8804.26 for the Leukaemia Foundation through the World’s Greatest Shave.
Thursday saw 12 staff and students from the team ‘Monivae 2021’ have their hair cut or shaved to raise awareness and money for the great cause.

“I decided to take part in the World’s Greatest Shave because my aunty had recently been diagnosed with cancer, previously three of my aunties and a friend have had cancer making it a big part of our lives,” she said.
“I wanted to donate my hair into a wig to help someone who has experienced a similar situation to my family.”
With Demi’s aunty currently undergoing chemotherapy in Hamilton with her family, she saw the “perfect opportunity” to do something meaningful with her.
