Macarthur student receives academic scholarship

MACARTHUR’S Brae Todd has received $2000 through the Moyne Shire’s Academic Support Scholarships to help further her tertiary studies.

Brae said she was very “grateful” for the scholarship as she knew how much it would ease the pressure of transitioning into university studies.

Five students from the Moyne Shire were fortunate enough to receive a scholarship to go towards their first year of tertiary education, recipients included Brae, Hayley Mann, Hexham, Ella Titmus, Wangoom, Grace Moloney and Tess Harris, from The Sisters.

Moyne Shire mayor, Daniel Meade said these scholarships had been running for 23 years and assisted many rural students with their tertiary education.

“To many students these scholarships can make a huge difference, breaking down some of the barriers to accessing further education and allowing them to focus on their studies,” Cr Meade said.

He congratulated the students and wished them well in their studies.
