LATE last week, the Victorian Supreme Court handed down a blow to Hawkesdale residents group opposing a wind farm development just outside the town.
On Friday morning, Judge Melinda Richards said the group, The People of the Small Town of Hawkesdale Incorporated, did not have standing to bring the case against Hawkesdale Wind Farm proponent, Global Power Generation (GPG), and the planning minister.
The judge said the “evidence did not reveal any activities undertaken by the association, either before or after its incorporation” other than the meeting to form the group in January earlier this year and commence the legal proceeding
