Lockdown-affected CFA training raises questions

QUESTIONS about the preparedness of CFA brigades for the upcoming fire season have been raised by some volunteers as lockdowns continue to affect training levels across Victoria.

 As an emergency service, the CFA are considered essential by the State Government and maintain a high degree of flexibility for their operations, including the logistics of training, but some members have voiced concerns that current restrictions and reduced opportunities in place meant they wouldn’t be as ready as they should be.
