CFA warns house fires still a risk in warmer months

WITH spring now here, many households will start using their heating devices less at home, but the CFA is urging the community not to become complacent with fire safety.

As the weather gets warmer, heaters are turned off and often forgotten about for six months, but the CFA is asking everyone to check their gas and electrical appliances to ensure they’re running efficiently.

On average, around 3000 house fires take place in Victoria, many of which could be avoided with simple and consistent maintenance jobs.
