THE Evergreens Traditional Jazz Band put a smile on the face of many locals on Saturday morning when it set up on the balcony of the Hub and played some well-known songs to raise money for Western District Health Service’s (WDHS) Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) machine appeal.
The band, which is made up of Lesley Slater on piano, Mike Woodward on soprano saxophone, Ray Wilson on bass, Peter Milburn on banjo, Daffy Steer on drums, Lloyd Hocking on clarinet and David Coldbeck on trombone, provided shoppers with plenty of entertainment two hours on Saturday morning.
All members of the band enjoyed the outing and given the ongoing lockdowns and restrictions, were glad to be back playing music together.
