WHEN the Julia Street Creative Space wanted to build an artistic new fence, it was the perfect opportunity to show some students that some of the skills they enjoyed and thought were restricted to the field of heavy engineering could also be put into service to create something spectacular. So began a project with four students from the Re-engagement Program at Portland Secondary College, the results already being more than either the students or artists could have hoped for.
