VICTORIA’S regional unemployment rate is the lowest on record and lowest among the states, according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics data released recently.
The data shows the regional unemployment rate declined 1.1 percentage points to 3.2 per cent across the three months to August 2021, dropping more than any state.
WDEA Works Hamilton business development officer, Damien Logan said the trend was apparent in Hamilton.
“We’re seeing a lot of growth of both existing and new businesses in Hamilton which is wonderful for the region,” he said.
“With an increase in opportunities, local workers are able to find employment more easily which may be a factor in this low unemployment rate.”
