Regional Ice Surge

ICE is now the most consumed illicit drug in Regional Victoria, with a 30 per cent jump in usage recorded between December 2020 and April this year.

According to the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission (ACIC) study released on Thursday, use of methylamphetamine per 100 people a day surged from about 34.1 to 45.2 across Regional Victoria. ACIC’s National Wastewater Drug Monitoring Report showed that 45.2 doses of ice per thousand people were detected daily, while alcohol and nicotine remained the most used drugs in the country.
