Monthly Must Street Market makes its debut

RESIDENTS across the city flocked to the Portland RSL Bowling Club carpark last Sunday for the inaugural monthly Must Street Market.

The market, which was brought in to replace the old Men’s Shed Market, had approximately 24 vendors on the day, 10 more than the usual at the previous site.

Organiser Jude Fasoli said she was thrilled with the day’s turnout.

“Stall holders all said they had a fantastic day,” she said.

“I know some would’ve almost sold out of stock if not completely sold out.

“It’s great for our first market – we had great support from stall holders and the community.”

To accompany the market, Kyeema also hosted a barbecue at the venue, which is available to be hosted by any community group each month.

“Kyeema said they went really well with the barbecue and raised some money for their cause.” Ms Fasoli said.

“I encourage any other community groups interested in hosting a barbecue at the market to raise funds to get in touch.

“I expect as we get busier we’ll be booking it far in advance.”

The market will be held on the first Sunday of every month.

Interested stall holders or community groups can contact Ms Fasoli on 0458 270769 for further information.
