A HAMILTON couple had reason to celebrate on the weekend after winning $831,613.44 on their Division 1 TattsLotto ticket.

Speaking with an official from The Lott on Monday, the husband said he hadn’t slept at all since receiving the good news.

“I’d been out with my wife, and we’d just gotten home when she decided to check our TattsLotto ticket,” he said.

“After she checked it, she just looked at me blankly and said, ‘come and have a look at this’.

“We couldn’t believe it, honestly! I kept saying, ‘Check it again! Are you sure? No, it can’t be!’.

“We checked the ticket on the website and the app, then we re-watched the draw, and we looked up the winning numbers too.

“We checked the ticket over and over again because it’s so overwhelming, we’re going out of our minds, it’s insane!

“We’ve been surviving off the excitement and a whole lot of coffee.

“I think we might have to buy a really nice bottle of champagne to celebrate now you’ve confirmed this is real.”

The husband said the couple planned to spend their winnings on travel and home renovations.

“We’ve been meaning to do some renovations on our home for years, so that sort of thing will be done now.” he said.

“It’ll be nice to start thinking about some overseas travel too, we’d love to go visit some of our friends.”

The winning ticket was purchased at Slade's Hamilton Newsagency & Lotto, where the owner, Chris Slade said the entire team celebrated the Division 1 win.

"I was really excited when I received the news that we’d sold another Division 1 winning entry at our store, I told all of our staff members immediately,” she said.

“It was awesome to have made another one of our player’s dreams come true just in time for Christmas.

“This is our fifth Division 1 win since taking over the outlet 13 years ago.

“There will no doubt be great excitement around our town when this life-changing news spreads, it's wonderful to have some good news to share!

“We wish the winners all the best for the future and hope they enjoy their sudden windfall.”

The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 4209 on 20 November, 2021 were 25, 21, 33, 20, 17 and 9, while the supplementary numbers were 4 and 19.

Across Australia, there were seven Division 1 winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4209 – four from Victoria, two from New South Wales and one from Queensland.

This is the second Division 1 win in the Western District in 2021, with both wins collectively worth more than $1.84 million.
