Penshurst hit and run

POLICE are currently investigating an alleged hit and run at Penshurst last week, where a white ute failed to give way and collided with a Nissan Navara before fleeing the scene.

Leading Senior Constable, Andy Gottliebsen said a Hamilton man was driving his Nissan Navara along the Hamilton Highway at 10.20pm on Thursday, December 23, when a white Ute failed to give way at the intersection of Martin Street and Cox Street in Penshurst, driving into the side of his vehicle.

The offending driver then fled the scene without exchanging information with the victim, who reported the incident to police.

Ldg Sen Const Mr Gottliebsen said the investigation was ongoing and encouraged anyone with information about the incident to contact police as soon as possible.

“There was a car collision, and the offending driver took off without swapping details,” he said.

“Anyone with information should contact Hamilton Police, Penshurst Police or Crime Stoppers.”
