IN AN 11th hour decision, Glenelg Shire Council voted to lower the Aboriginal flag to half-mast on January 26 (Wednesday), during its monthly council meeting on Tuesday night.

The urgent business item, which was put forward by Mayor Anita Rank, was meant in a sign of respect for the Indigenous community, with Mayor Rank labelling it a “very timely” request.
