TONIGHT, the Hamilton Performing Arts Centre (HPAC) will host a free season launch to introduce the biggest year of shows in HPAC’s history to the South Grampians community.
The night of arts, culture and live entertainment will begin with a Welcome to Country by local Boandik-Gunditjmara Elder, Uncle Johnny Lovett and opening insights before exclusive sneak peeks of upcoming 2022 shows and an ‘80’s apocalyptic sing along cabaret’ led by Geraldine Quinn.
Geraldine Quinn has been performing her award-winning original pop/rock cabaret all around the world for a decade.
Geraldine has appeared on ABC TV’s Spicks and Specks, Adam Hills Tonight, Upper Middle Bogan and True Story, and she has been a cabaret judge for Short and Sweet, Melbourne Fringe and the Green Room Awards.
Performing Arts manager, Melissa Forlano said the upcoming season was all about having fun and offered an opportunity for HPAC to relaunch themselves with a new team, new look and new vision.
"We are beyond excited for tonight's launch,” she said.
“The stage is set, the bubbles and our retro mocktail are on ice, and we're ready to effectively relaunch HPAC back to our community after such a long period without live entertainment."
Event master of ceremonies, Warrnambool-based artist, Gareth Colliton will also share videos and messages from performers being welcomed in 2022.
Highlights from the upcoming season include The Rubens live, shows by RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under Stars, Art Simone & Etcetera Etcetera, as well as wide range of plays, performances and children’s shows.
Light catering will be provided by local café, Tosca Browns, and attendees will receive a complimentary drink to enjoy while listening to live music by local band, The Bar Trio.
Tickets are complimentary thanks to support from Hamilton Performing Arts Centre, Southern Grampians Shire Council and Creative Victoria.
You must be fully vaccinated or medically exempt to attend and the event is suitable for all demographics and abilities over 13 years old.
The night kicks off at 5.30pm with prizes for best 80s outfits up for grabs, so dress to impress.
