Historical sexual assaults

AN 87-year-old man who allegedly sexually assaulted two male victims in Mortlake 40 years ago has been charged by police on Tuesday, March 8.

Detectives from the Sexual Crimes Squad charged the man as part of an investigation into a number of alleged historical sexual assaults.

The charges against the man include a number of sexual offences, such as sexual penetration of a person aged between 10-16 years old and indecent assault.

The 24 charges against the man relate to two alleged incidents involving two male victims in Mortlake in 1981 and 1982.

The man is scheduled to appear at the Warrnambool Magistrates Court later this month.
