INTERNATIONAL Women’s Day is a day for recognising and celebrating women and their achievements, but it also invariably brings with it a fresh round of triggering statements, more hollow rhetoric and ongoing calls for gender equality.

This week, Victorian Government shadow minister for Scrutiny of Government, Western Victoria MP Bev McArthur lambasted Federal Member for Lilley, Anika Wells for embellishing achievements of women in the Labor party.
