FORMER Hamilton local, George Levett has spent the last two weeks on the frontline of the flood disasters in Queensland and New South Wales.

Mr Levett, a senior air crewman on the Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter, usually stays with the pilot while operating the winch, but has been working as a rescue crewman down the wire and into the water during this latest crisis.
