LOCAL emergency services attended the scene of a car accident around 5pm on Wednesday evening after a driver failed to obey a traffic sign and collided with another vehicle.

Hamilton Police sergeant, Rex Habel said the accident occurred at the intersection of Gray Street and Tyres Street with police and CFA promptly attending the scene.

“Police have investigated the accident and one of the drivers has been issued a penalty notice or infringement notice for disobeying a traffic sign,” he said.

“The driver had general soreness but there were no admissions to hospital.”

Sergeant Habel said the accident was a reminder for drivers to obey road signs and exercise caution at dangerous intersections.

“That intersection is quite dangerous, and we would be asking members of the public to take particular care when approaching that intersection and obey all applicable signs,” he said.
