A FATAL head-on collision occurred at Willaura on Wednesday afternoon when a car and truck collided, causing one of the vehicles to burst into flames.

Northern Grampians Highway Patrol are investigating the crash that saw a truck and sedan collide head-on on Moyston-Willaura Road, near the intersection of Taits Road at around 12.45pm on Wednesday.

The collision caused the sedan to burst into flames while the truck was flipped on its side.

Tragically, the sole occupant of the sedan died at the scene, with the truck driver transported to hospital for treatment.
