IN a few weeks’ time will be the annual Good Friday Royal Children’s Hospital Charity Golf Day open for absolutely everyone to get involved.
Friday April 15 will be the day it all goes down, with guaranteed fun along with awards, a raffle and auction, and everyone is welcome to participate, even children and non-golfers.
Coordinator Phyl Prescott said that over the 17 years the event has been running, $144,000 had been raised in total to go towards the Royal Children’s Hospital.
“I believe originally there were a couple of children within the community who had been in the Royal Children's Hospital, and that’s what inspired the annual charity,” she said.
“And there is always children or grandchildren suffering from cancer, so we've just kept it going.”
With a $25 fee to participate comes along a morning tea including fish provided by a Portland Fisherman, veggie burgers, hamburgers and sausages that will be cooked up by the Heywood Lions Club.
Ms Prescott said an auction will begin right after presentations, putting on offer items donated by businesses around Portland and Heywood, as well having a raffle during the day to raise some extra funds for the cause.
Ms Prescott was grateful for all the local businesses ongoing support.
The event will run from 8.30am to 11am and bookings are to be done through www.bookatee.com.
