AS the Federal Election creeps closer, the location of polling booths in the area has been announced, with early voting available to locals from May 14.
All Australians aged 18 and over who are enrolled to vote will have their say in the Federal Election held on May 21.
Hamilton will hold early voting from May 14 at the Hamilton Senior Citizens Club, with other locations open to the public for voting on May 21.
Voting is compulsory and a $20 administrative penalty will apply for those who fail to vote without a valid reason.
Postal voting is also available to those who are unable to attend a polling place, with the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) encouraging people to apply for postal voting as early as possible through aec.gov.au or by visiting an AEC office.
The cut-off date for requesting a postal vote is May 18.
