LOCALS will be taken on a thrilling voyage through the alphabet next week when ‘The Alphabet of Awesome Science’ performance comes to Hamilton Performing Arts Centre.
Professor Lexi Con, an expert lexicographer described as the ‘word nerd’, and Professor Noel Edge, an expert science communicator described as the ‘science freak’, will strut their stuff in a performance that’s explosive, messy, spectacular, hilarious, fascinating, and gross.
Audience members will see Professor Lexi Con use her favourite words to represent each letter in the alphabet, with Professor Noel Edge then using those words as inspiration for 26 quirky scientific demonstrations that squish and squirt, float and fly, erupt and explode.
Summed up, the performance can be described as great, big, chewy sesquipedalian words meets mind-blowing scientific surprises.
‘The Alphabet of Awesome Science’ will keep people of all ages on their toes, with dad jokes and pranks offering entertainment for both kids and parents.
The performance is also completely interactive and relies on audience participation to determine the order in which the letters are revealed and explored, making each show completely different from the last.
With only 52 minutes to complete their alphabetical and scientifical countdown, the pressure will be on for Professor Lexi Con and Professor Noel Edge to finish all experiments in time.
The performance will take place at Hamilton Performing Arts Centre on Tuesday, May 10, at 10am and 1pm.
