Hamilton legend to receive country music tribute

AFTER several attempts to run a tribute concert for Jack Foran, who died almost exactly four years ago, it will finally go ahead this Sunday.

Jack was a well-known figure in Hamilton and his love for family, country music and the bush defined him.

He was known to wait patiently outside The Spectator offices for an early copy of the paper, and judging by the list of notices following his death on June 5, 2018, was much-loved by family and friends.

He often sat with co-workers after a day working as a wool classer – an occupation he held for over  half a century – with his guitar for a sing-along.

Presented by Johnny Lovett and Peter Cook, the lineup will also include Peter Milburn, Michael Cameron, Shane Crumpton, Nick Edge, Cam Edge, Simon Edge on guitar and Daffy Steer on drums.

Nick and Simon are Jack’s nephews.

The show starts at 2pm on Sunday at the Hamilton Golf Club on Rippon Road.

Tickets are $10 each excluding drinks and proceeds will raise funds for the WDHS MRI and HIRL.
