The Best of The Bee Gees

THE Best of The Bee Gees will hit the stage at the Hamilton Performing Arts Centre (HPAC) at 8pm tomorrow night, to wow locals with their singing talents in a heartfelt tribute to the iconic band.

The Best of the Bee Gees has brought audiences across the globe to their feet for more than two decades and features performances from Evan Webster (Barry Gibb), Russell Davey (Robin Gibb), and Greg Wain (Maurice Gibb), alongside original Bee Gees’ drummer Colin ‘Smiley’ Petersen, who will share first-hand stories from his time in the band.

The performance will consist of a catalogue of Bee Gees mega-hits including ‘Saturday Night Fever’, ‘How Deep Is Your Love’, ‘Stayin’ Alive’, ‘Grease’, ‘Jive Talkin’, ‘Spicks & Specks’, and ‘To Love Somebody’.

The set list will highlight the soaring, three-part harmonies and timeless classics Bee Gee fans know and love.

Colin ‘Smiley’ Peterson was a child drumming protégé, an actor with three international films under his belt before he was a teenager, and was the first official non-Gibb member of the Bee Gees.

Essential to the Bee Gees sound, Mr Peterson was driving the evolution of the supergroup on stage and in the studio over four albums and number one singles – ‘Massachusetts’, ‘To Love Somebody’, ‘New York Mining Disaster’, ‘I Started a Joke’, and many more.

Mr Peterson said The Best of The Bee Gees successfully recreated the sound of the well-known band in a tasteful manner and he was pleased to be part of the tribute.

“It’s wonderful that these incredible songs live on through this great show and I am thrilled to add another dimension by sharing my memories,” he said.
