The latest Bureau of Meteorology data shows a total of 84.2 millimetres recorded in the town at the time of going to print, compared to an historical average of 65.8mm.

The figure has also nearly passed the average for July, historically Casterton’s wettest month at 86.2 mm.

Temperatures are on the rise deeper into the winter season, with a high of 15.3 degrees recorded on Friday, 17 June.

Four of the last six days before Sunday, 19 June passed the month’s historical average maximum of 13.7 degrees and are the only days this month to have done so.

However, the weekend saw much colder mornings compared to previous days, with lows of 2.2 and 3.3 recorded on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
