THE long-awaited ‘Back to Macarthur’ reunion for all residents - past and present - has now been rebooked for the weekend of October 21-22, 2022, at the Macarthur Recreation Reserve.
The event was postponed from October last year due to the pandemic, but has now been locked in.
Event coordinator, Cyril Hill, said it would be a great opportunity for old friends and former residents to get together “before it’s too late, and have a chin wag”.
“We are looking forward to a get together,” he said.
“Unfortunately, we had to cancel last year.
“It’s a BYO pretty much everything, organise your own accommodation or camping yourself.
“Most people will travel on the Friday and it will kick off with a barbecue lunch provided Saturday, followed by a two-course dinner Saturday night – pay as you go and drinks at bar prices.”
“A local band from Macarthur (will perform) – just some boys will get together and put on some live music on Saturday night.”
Catering will be provided, with all profits going back to the local club(s), yet to be confirmed.
Mr Hill said there had been strong interest in the event, with an indication that over 100 people would be attending, some travelling from interstate.
“Names and numbers of those attending would be appreciated for catering arrangements,” Mr Hill said.
Accommodation on offer includes low cost powered and unpowered campsites suitable for tents, camper trailers, caravans, or motorhomes at the Macarthur Recreation Reserve, Budj Bim National Park Campground or Macarthur Park Country Cottages.
