Characters come to life for schools' Book Week

STUDENTS and staff at Sacred Heart and Casterton Primary Schools took on new personas last week to celebrate Book Week activities.

Spider-Man swung by, Hermione Granger and Luna Lovegood took a break from their Hogwarts studies to join in the fun, a young cowboy showed off his whip-cracking skills and a Creeper from the world of Minecraft kept a lid on his explosive tendencies to keep the party safe.

Teachers also got in on the action with the Very Hungry Caterpillar and one of the 101 Dalmatians stopping by and Specky Magee turning out to start his career at the Casterton Sandford Cats.

Book Week is a 77-year-old nationwide initiative launched by the Children’s Book Council of Australia, dedicated to highlighting the importance of reading at a young age.
