LAST weekend the Hamilton and District Veteran Vintage Classic Drivers Club played host to the Antique Motorcycle Club of Australia when they came to Hamilton on their biannual rally.
The motorcycles ranged from the 1900s to the 1930s and members came from places such as Ballarat, Horsham, Ararat, Kerang and Framlingham.
The cold and wet weather did put a few members off from participating in the weekend, but those who did brave the elements totally enjoyed themselves.
On Saturday after registration and a cuppa, around 12 bikes led by local Roger Warburton left the clubrooms at 11am for the Penshurst area and a look at a local collection, lunch, more riding and returned late afternoon for an evening meal.
Sunday morning saw the bikes getting refuelled and a few minor adjustments made before heading out, this time the long way to Coleraine via Merino.
Timing their stops shrewdly around some rain showers, lunch and a visit to the Classic Car Museum, the bike models represented over the weekend included Indian, Harley Davidson, AJS, GCS (George Cyril Stillwell), Triumph, Norton, Regnis, Royal Enfield and BSA.
