IN Branxholme there’s a new attraction - recently there have been 21 plaques placed in and around the town, marking off historical sites of interest - some still standing and others long gone.
Installed by the Branxholme Progress Association, the heritage trail created by the sequence of stops will be an enduring preservation of the town’s history.
The Branxholme & Wallacedale Community School will soon be taking their students to each plaque so that they can learn about the history of their town.
The plaques each contain a story of the locations with a photo, with potentially a guide map and QR code walking tour to be added at some future time.
The association acknowledged the help of the Southern Grampians Shire Greater Grants Program in setting up the sites.
