Biodiversity heads-up for landholders

LOCAL landholders are reminded to think twice and seek advice before removing native plants from private or public land – to conserve the environment, protect cultural heritage and avoid facing significant penalties.

According to the Conservation Regulator – a State Government body – less than 50 per cent of Victoria’s original native vegetation remains, including trees, shrubs and grasses, which all play an important role in ecosystems, including serving as vital habitats for native wildlife.
