Fundraiser for local sisters in fire accident

THE local community is rallying together to raise money for Olivia and Jesse Jones after the sisters were involved in a devastating accident earlier this week that left them in hospital.

The accident allegedly occurred on Monday night after a drum of fuel was tipped on a fire the girls were standing near, causing an explosion that set both of them on fire.

Both girls were then airlifted to The Alfred Hospital for treatment.

The girls’ sister, Maddison Jones created a GoFundMe page to help raise money for the girls and their families so they can focus on their recovery.

“The next few months will be tough, and unfortunately, while they’ve had to press pause on their lives at the moment, time keeps going, and with that comes bills, expenses and the recovery period,” she wrote on the page.

“Please keep the girls in your thoughts and thank you for all the prayers and well wishes.”
