Councillors 20 years’ service

YOU get less time for murder these days, but Southern Grampians Shire Council (SGSC) councillor, Dr Katrina Rainsford was recently recognised by the Municipal Association Victoria (MAV) for her 20 years’ service to Local Government.

Cr Rainsford was first elected to West Wimmera’s inaugural shire council in 1997 for one term, then to Southern Grampians Shire Council (SGSC) in 2004, and was presented with a certificate and medallion recognising the milestone by Regional Development, Local Government and Territories minister, Kristy McBain, at the annual MAV conference last week.
