SOUTHERN Grampians Shire Council will elect a new mayor at a meeting tonight for the 2022-23 period.

 The mayor will be appointed for a one-year term with the election run by the chief executive.

If Council determines it is appropriate to do so, a new deputy mayor for 2022-23 will also be appointed for a one-year term, with the mayor running the election.

The agenda for tonight’s meeting will also include determining the Meeting Schedule for 2022-23.
