THE final show of the season at the Hamilton Performing Arts Centre (HPAC) is set to be a morning of festive entertainment to round off the second biggest year on record for the venue.

Held at the HPAC auditorium at 11am on Thursday, December 15, ‘The Spirit of Christmas’ is a morning show blending live music, talented vocalists and storytelling.

With plenty of festive cheer, sing-alongs and laughs, the show is one you will not want to miss.

The cast this year will be led by Australian musical theatre and TV star, Ian Stenlake, who most recently received a Helpmann Award nomination for his leading role in the national tour of ‘Mamma Mia! The Musical’.

Locals may recognise Mr Stenlake from his role as the leading man in eight seasons of Channel 9’s ‘Sea Patrol’.

Award-winning music theatre singer and actress, Michelle Fitzmaurice, will be joining Mr Stenlake on stage, with the duo taking the audience through a cavalcade of festive songs with piano accompaniment.

Together and alone, both will sing classic Christmas Carols blended with contemporary Christmas songs in a festive celebration to round off the year.

Locals may remember the duo from their performance at HPAC in February as part of the national tour of ‘Lloyd Webber & The Great Composers’.

Promac Productions (the show’s production company) director, Christopher McKenna, said the show was the perfect way for locals to get into the festive spirit.

“With a long year nearly behind us it will be such a joy to come together to celebrate the festive season in Hamilton,” he said.

“We’d love to see locals join Ian, Michelle and their musical director on piano to ‘Sing In’ Christmas 2022.

“This intimate, entertaining show would be a perfect morning out for grandparents, parents or young music-lovers alike.”

Attendees will be treated to complimentary tea or coffee and a festive snack from 10.30am, with the option to meet the cast in person after the show.
