30th anniversary of Les’ legacy

44 members of the Western District Caravan Club gathered at Warrnambool last weekend to celebrate 30 years since the club’s inception.

Les Donehue formed the club in 1992 with 98 caravans at the very first rally which was held at Halls Gap.

He is held dearly in the hearts of the club members in lieu of his passing only a short time ago.

Les’ wife, Margaret, and daughter, Sue, were present at the club gathering in Warrnambool to celebrate the milestone where Margaret cut the commemoratory cake.

Just four members of the club today have travelled throughout the entirety of the last 30 years, those being Margaret Donehue, Angela and Ian Phillips, and club president, Helen Clarke.

Over these years, this fabulous four have travelled throughout Australia - even taking a safari to Tasmania.

Margaret, Angela, Ian and Helen were presented with certificates of appreciation for their involvement and dedication to the community over the 30 years.

Club members come from across the region including Colac, Camperdown, Mortlake, Portland, Hamilton, and Horsham areas.

New members are always most welcome and can get in touch with the club by visiting their website at bit.ly/3u6o48P
